Compliance assessment of development

Compliance assessment is a new development assessment process introduced under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009.
It has been introduced to help reduce red tape and ensure low-risk developments are assessed using a simpler, more efficient process.

From 18 December 2009, compliance assessment is required for certain types of subdivisions in residential and industrial areas and operational works associated with these subdivisions.
Further information about the types of subdivisions which require compliance assessment is available in the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 (
